Basic Qualifucation:
Demonstrated experience accurately analyzing information and policy developments and making strategic decisions regarding project scope, impact, development, and implementation.
General Requirements:
Bachelor Degree in Public Policy, Engineering, Business or Technical Discipline or an equivalent combination of education, training, and experience. Typically possesses seven or more years experience in organizational programs, contract management or public policy plus five or more years of supervisory or project management. Demonstrated relationship management experience. Demonstrated ability to lead efforts to develop and implement public education plans. Demonstrated ability to conduct research and perform public policy assessments. Demonstrated experience leading, developing, implementing, and facilitating corporate and/or communication strategies. Demonstrated ability to manage cross-functional teams. Must demonstrate experience consulting with clients, including independently identifying client needs, developing action plans, identifying deliverables, and presenting results. Must have excellent oral and written communication skills, and be client focused, to appropriately identify and respond to client’s business needs and facilitate the presentation of recommendations. Demonstrated experience accurately analyzing information and policy developments and making strategic decisions regarding project scope, impact, development, and implementation. Demonstrated ability to interface effectively with clients, peers, contractors, policy makers and all levels of management to develop solutions and ensure stakeholder buy-in. Must demonstrate the ability to take initiative and accountability for results. Must be proficient in Microsoft Word and PowerPoint. Significant travel will be required.
Preferences:
Advanced degree in public policy. Five years experience as a lobbyist or public participation advocate.
Typical Responsibilities:
Typical responsibilities will include: Conducting and maintaining current, policy and political assessments of every state where significant Edison International (EIX) capital projects are being considered; co-managing local project consultants along with company development teams; researching, as well as external and internal communicating on policy, political, and regulatory developments; and performing other duties and responsibilities as assigned. The State Policy Program Manager will conduct and maintain current, policy and political assessments of every state where significant EIX capital projects are being considered.
