Fault
Point of trouble in an electric circuit.

Federal Energy Regulatory Commission (FERC)
The independent, Washington, D.C.-based regulatory agency within the U.S. Department of Energy that approves rates for wholesale electricity transactions and regulates the transmission of electricity in interstate commerce for utilities, power marketers, power pools, power exchanges and independent system operators.

Feedback
Circuit energized from the same source.

Feeder
Line supplying all of the branch circuits with the main supply of current.

Flash Arc
The flow of electric current across the gap in a circuit which causes a light or a flow.

Flexible Conduit
Nonrigid conduit made of a fabric or metal strip wound spirally.

Fluctuating Voltage
Service goes from bright to dim and back to bright intermittently.
