Kilovolt
One thousand volts

Kilowatt (KW)
One thousand watts, which is the amount of electricity it takes to light ten 100-watt light bulbs.

Kilowatt-hour (KWh)
Electrical energy supplied at a rate of 1,000 watts for one hour. The amount of electricity consumed to light 10, 100-watt light bulbs for one hour. The average home in SCE’s service area consumes between 550 and 600 kWh per month. (A watt-hour is the basic unit for measuring electric energy consumption and is the billing unit for retail electricity).
