Level Pay Plan
A payment system based on the calculation of a customer’s electricity use during a one-year period; an average of the monthly cost is determined so customers pay the same amount for 11 months. On the 12th month, customers get a settlement bill showing either a payment due, or an account credit, based on the energy used during the year.

Load Control Programs
Load, also called demand, refers to the amount of energy required at any one moment to operate homes, businesses and entire communities. Load control programs, which are one of the methods used to manage energy demand, motivate customers to reduce their energy use during peak-demand periods and save them energy and money. Such programs also help maintain adequate power supplies.

SCE and other utilities offer several load control programs, including the air conditioner cycling program through which customers agree to have their air conditioner temporarily turned off during hot periods when power supplies are critically low.
