The Los Angeles Conservation Corp is an innovative agency with a dual mission-the employment and development of youth and the protection and enhancement of natural resources. The Conservation Corp helps inner-city young adults gain valuable work experience by enhancing and improving greater Los Angeles communities, while earning their high school diploma. Junior-high school age kids get involved in urban beautification projects and learn about environmental responsibility. Edison has provided financial and organizational support to the LACC since 1993 and helped establish the East Los Angeles site, The Hammel Center.
