Lloyd J. MacNeil
General Counsel, Edison Energy Group
Lloyd MacNeil is director and general counsel of Edison Energy Group, the holding company for Edison International’s competitive businesses in emerging sectors of the electric industry. He serves as principal legal advisor to a portfolio of subsidiaries that includes SoCore Energy, Edison Transmission, Edison Water Resources and Edison Energy.
Prior to joining Edison Energy Group, MacNeil was a partner at Dechert LLP, in Los Angeles, where he served in the firm’s Corporate and Securities group. The practice focused on project financing and management, as well as mergers and acquisitions in the energy and infrastructure sector, with a particular emphasis on renewable energy.
MacNeil has more than 20 years of legal counsel and litigation experience in the senior project finance, corporate and commercial arenas. His expertise includes energy and infrastructure development and finance, as well as corporate and commercial transactions.
In addition to partner and associate positions at several law firms, MacNeil has worked as a corporate attorney at Boeing Capital Corporation where he provided legal counsel related to the sale of the company’s commercial finance division to GE.
He received a bachelor’s degree in biology from Dalhousie University and a law degree from Dalhousie Law School, both in Halifax, Nova Scotia.
