Counsel, SoCore Energy
Steve Miriani serves as Counsel of SoCore Energy. Joining SoCore in 2013, Miriani oversees contract review, drafting and execution, and corporate governance and other legal matters. He has over 25 years of legal and finance experience, with over 20 years’ experience in the energy industry.
Miriani spent the last seven years working with wind and solar energy developers, assisting with the development and financing of many significant renewable energy projects, including numerous distributed generation and utility-scale PV solar projects and over 750 Megawatts of wind projects.
Miriani began his legal career as a law clerk for the Delaware Supreme Court, entered private practice as a corporate lawyer at Sidley & Austin, worked for many years at Heller Financial, Inc. (now part of GE Capital) , and was Counsel at Skadden, Arps, Slate, Meagher and Flom.
In addition to his experience with wind and solar projects, Miriani has extensive experience representing borrowers, lenders, lessors, lessees and investors in complex secured and unsecured financing transactions, including project financings, tax equity financings, equipment financings, acquisition financings, asset-based financings, mezzanine and subordinated debt financings, leveraged lease financings, debtor-in-possession and bankruptcy exit financings, aircraft and railcar financings.
Miriani earned a JD from Tulane Law School in 1986 and an MBA from the Kellogg Graduate School of Business at Northwestern University in 1997.
