Stuart R. Hemphill

Senior Vice President, Customer and Operational Services

As senior vice president of Customer and Operational Services at Southern California Edison (SCE), Stuart R. (Stu) Hemphill is responsible for overseeing the company’s customer products and services, customer engagement and call center operations, demand-side management programs, field services and account management.  He is also responsible for operational services, which includes supply chain, supplier diversity, corporate real estate, logistics, warehousing, transportation services, corporate environmental services, business resiliency and safety.

Prior to his current role, Hemphill served as senior vice president of Power Supply and Operational Services, where he was responsible for the development and operation of the company’s hydroelectric, solar and natural gas generating plants; the procurement of conventional and renewable power contracts; the planning, management and dispatch of SCE’s overall resource portfolio; and operational services.  During 2014, Hemphill was acting chief financial officer of SCE in addition to these duties.  

Hemphill also held positions of senior vice president of Power Procurement, and vice president of Renewable and Alternative Power. He held management positions at Edison International and SCE in the strategic planning, resource planning and business development organizations.

Hemphill serves on the Boards of the Huntington Library and AbilityFirst.  Previously, he served on the Boards of California Power Exchange and Los Angeles Ronald McDonald House.

He earned an MBA at California State Polytechnic University, Pomona, and a bachelor’s degree in electrical engineering at California State University, Fullerton.
