ROSEMEAD, Calif., October 22, 2007 — Edison International (NYSE:EIX) announced today that Edison Mission Energy (EME), its indirect subsidiary, has commenced an offer to exchange up to $1.2 billion aggregate principal amount of new 7.00% senior notes due May 15, 2017, which have been registered under the Securities Act of 1933, as amended (the Securities Act), for an equal principal amount of its outstanding unregistered 7.00% senior notes due May 15, 2017.
Additionally, EME commenced an offer to exchange up to $800 million aggregate principal amount of new 7.20% senior notes due May 15, 2019, which have been registered under the Securities Act, for an equal principal amount of its outstanding unregistered 7.20% senior notes due May 15, 2019. Further, EME commenced an offer to exchange up to $700 million aggregate principal amount of new 7.625% senior notes due May 15, 2027, which have been registered under the Securities Act, for an equal principal amount of its outstanding unregistered 7.625% senior notes due May 15, 2027. The exchange offer will expire at 5:00 p.m., New York City time, on November 20, 2007, unless extended.
