Southern California Edison

Erwin Furukawa is vice president of the Customer Programs and Services department of Southern California Edison (SCE), one of the nation’s largest electric utilities. He is responsible for customer products and services, customer satisfaction, customer experience management and customer business planning and regulatory support.

In response to the rising demand for electricity and increased understanding of the environmental benefits of energy conservation, Furukawa is focused on SCE initiatives that help customers manage their energy use and increase efficiency. He and his team are focused on the marketing and management of the nation’s largest portfolio of energy efficiency programs and California’s largest demand response offerings for residential, commercial, industrial and agricultural customers.

Furukawa’s organization is creating an enhanced online experience for customers at www.SCE.com. They are developing innovative technology solutions that will enable customers to use the Edison SmartConnect™ wireless metering system to make smarter choices that save energy and money. These initiatives and others have resulted in a significant improvement in customer satisfaction scores as measured by J.D. Power and Associates. The U.S. Department of Energy has distinguished Southern California Edison as having the top-ranked energy efficiency program of all electric utilities in the country.

Before joining SCE, Furukawa held numerous executive leadership positions at AT&T, SBC and Pacific Bell where he led a number of sales and marketing organizations.
