Paul De Martini is vice president of Advanced Technology in the Transmission & Distribution Business Unit of Southern California Edison (SCE). Advanced Technology is SCE's R&D organization responsible for SmartGrid development, which includes advanced grid technologies, electric transportation, smart metering and integration of energy smart consumer products.
Before assuming his current job, De Martini was vice president of Edison SmartConnect™, responsible for leading the company’s award-winning program from concept through initial execution. Edison SmartConnect will replace millions of traditional electric meters with smart meters to empower customers to conserve energy.
De Martini joined SCE in 2002. Before joining the company, he was a vice president at ICF International, an energy and environmental consulting firm. Prior to this, De Martini held senior management positions with Sempra Energy, Coastal Corporation and Pacific Gas & Electric.
De Martini earned a master’s degree in business administration from the University of Southern California and a bachelor’s degree from the University of San Francisco. He also earned a certificate in technology management from the California Institute of Technology. De Martini is currently an executive Fellow of the Wharton School, University of Pennsylvania.
