Russell C. Swartz is senior vice president and general counsel for Southern California Edison (SCE). He is responsible for all legal matters associated with SCE.
He joined SCE in 1993 as a senior attorney, concentrating on qualifying facility-related matters. He was elected vice president and associate general counsel in February 2010.
Prior to joining SCE, Swartz was a partner in the litigation department of a commercial law firm. He began his legal career as a law clerk for Judge Joan Demsey Klein in the California Court of Appeals in Los Angeles.
Swartz is a member of the Civil and Small Claims Advisory Committee to the California Judicial Council and also serves on the board of the Constitutional Rights Foundation.
Swartz earned a bachelor’s degree in political science from the University of Southern California and a law degree from the University of California, Los Angeles.
