George Mundorf is vice president of Distribution Operations in the Transmission and Distribution (T&D) organization at Southern California Edison. He leads all aspects of electrical design, construction, maintenance and operations of the overhead and underground distribution system at SCE.

Mundorf brings more than 22 years of experience in the utility sector with extensive knowledge in leading large-scale utility operations, grid operations, distribution operations, emergency management, meter field operations and power procurement. Before his current role, he was managing director of Transmission & Substations Operations where he was responsible for construction and maintenance activities of transmission and substation facilities to safely deliver power to the distribution grid.

Before joining SCE, Mundorf held key leadership positions at DTE Energy. His contributions spanned Power Procurement, Grid Operations and Distribution, navigating complex challenges and optimizing energy delivery systems.

Mundorf served in the U.S. Army as a signal officer, demonstrating discipline, strategic thinking and adaptability.

He holds a bachelor’s degree in industrial engineering and a master’s degree in technology management from South Dakota School of Mines and Technology.
