Previously, Rivard was senior vice president of Electric Distribution at DTE Energy where she worked for 28 years. In this role, she was responsible for the safe and reliable distribution of electricity to 2.1 million customers across southeastern Michigan.
Throughout her career, Rivard has held various roles of increasing responsibility, starting as a marketing account representative and later transitioning to customer service supervisor, service center manager, director of Electric Service Operations and vice president of Corporate Services overseeing procurement, fleet and facility services for DTE Energy.
Before joining the utility industry, she spent several years working as an aerospace engineer for the Department of Defense in Washington, D.C. and for NASA at the Johnson Space Center.
Rivard was elected president of the Association of Edison Illuminating Companies for 2024, one of the longest-standing associations in the electric energy industry and serves on the executive safety innovation committee with the Electric Power Research Institute. Rivard is also on the board of the Salvation Army of Greater Los Angeles.
She has a bachelor’s degree in aerospace engineering and an MBA from the University of Michigan.
