Southern California Edison
Jill Anderson is executive vice president and chief operating officer at Southern California Edison, one of the nation’s largest electric utilities. She leads many of SCE’s operations groups — including Transmission & Distribution, Power Generation, Customer Service, Engineering, Safety and Operational Services — and is responsible for safely delivering reliable, clean and affordable power to more than 15 million people in a 50,000-square-mile service area spanning Central, Coastal and Southern California.

Before her current role, Anderson served as senior vice president of Customer Service, driving customer products and services and business strategy across the company. Before that, she was senior vice president of Strategic Planning and Power Supply, ensuring that the integrated planning to support California’s clean energy transformation remains closely aligned with the company’s procurement and dispatch of generation resources.

Previously, Anderson was executive vice president and chief commercial officer at the New York Power Authority (NYPA), the country’s largest state power organization. She directed all wholesale and retail operations, including the market operations of NYPA’s generation assets. She was responsible for customer sales, marketing, new products and technology, clean energy and transportation and energy-efficiency programs. Before this at NYPA, she led energy policy, sustainability, corporate communications, regulatory affairs and government relations departments.

Anderson has also worked for Hess Corporation, leading global process improvement projects. She started her career at Consolidated Edison Company of New York, leading teams responsible for natural gas and electric operations, redesign of the distribution system to integrate new technologies and electricity and natural gas procurement.

Anderson serves on the board of directors of the National Safety Council, a nonprofit safety advocate that strives to eliminate the leading causes of preventable death and injury in the workplace and other areas. She is also on the board of directors of the Catalina Island Conservancy.

Anderson received a Bachelor of Science in mechanical engineering from Boston University and a Master of Business Administration from New York University.
