Kate Sturgess

Kate Sturgess is vice president and controller for Southern California Edison (SCE). She is responsible for the strategic leadership and oversight of SCE’s accounting, financial reporting and governance of internal controls.

Before joining SCE, Sturgess was with National Grid USA, a subsidiary of National Grid PLC. Sturgess held various finance leadership roles at National Grid, including vice president within Global Finance Transformation and vice president, U.S. controller.

Before National Grid, Sturgess was a senior manager with PricewaterhouseCoopers (PwC) in New York and London, where she specialized in audits of publicly traded companies in the power and utilities sector.

Sturgess graduated from the University of Sheffield in England with a bachelor’s degree in history and is a chartered accountant from the Institute of Chartered Accountants in England and Wales. She also is a board trustee and chair of the finance committee for The Brooklyn Hospital Center.
