Albert Ma is vice president of Technology, Data and Strategic Services for Information Technology at Southern California Edison, one of the nation’s largest electric utilities. He is responsible for developing and directing the company’s technology and data vision and implementing information technology strategies. Key functions include Enterprise Architecture, Digital Process Transformation, Advanced Analytics, PMO, Technology Business Management and the NextGen ERP program.

Previously, Ma led the Plan, Delivery and Operations functions for Energy Procurement & Management, Transmission & Distribution, Customer Service, Corporate and IT.

Before joining SCE, Ma worked at Toyota for more than 15 years. Ma served as chief information officer and vice president for Toyota Financial Services. He was a member of the CEO’s senior management team and led the development of long-term strategy. He also directed the development and execution of technology roadmaps to build strategic capabilities, ensure technical currency and advance key management disciplines such as resource planning and financial management.

Ma also held several positions at Toyota Motor Sales, U.S.A. As the divisional information officer, he partnered with business executives to design strategic plans and drive the technology agenda for the parts and accessories business. Ma also served as IT national manager in the Office of the CIO and manager of the IT Strategy & Project Management Office.

Before Toyota, Ma was a project manager for a home textile firm and performed clinical research in glaucoma at an ophthalmology practice.

Ma earned a bachelor’s degree in biological sciences from Stanford University and an MBA from the Marshall School of Business at the University of Southern California.
