David Heller is vice president of Enterprise Risk Management and Insurance and general auditor at Southern California Edison, one of the nation’s largest electric utilities, and its parent company, Edison International. He is responsible for the company’s risk management, public safety and insurance programs, from strategic direction to oversight and monitoring. He is also responsible for oversight of the company’s internal audits department and the execution of its internal audit function. Before this assignment, he served as chief ethics and compliance officer.
Before joining Edison International, he served as director of ethics and business conduct at The Boeing Company, where he was responsible for developing strategic direction for international ethics and compliance programs. He also managed corporate investigations worldwide for Boeing.
Previously, Heller served as vice president of risk management and chief compliance officer for Qwest Communications and its predecessor, U.S. West. He also has advised Mobil Oil on safety and security issues.
He is a member of the advisory board for the insurance subsidiary of Providence St. Joseph Hospitals as well as the Loss Control Task Force of Associated Electric & Gas Insurance Services Ltd. (AEGIS).
Heller earned a bachelor’s degree in safety and fire protection engineering technology from Oklahoma State University, a master’s degree in environmental policy and management from the University of Denver and a J.D. from the University of Denver College of Law.
