Frederic Bailly is vice president of decommissioning and chief nuclear officer at Southern California Edison, one of the nation’s largest electric utilities. He is responsible for overseeing aspects of the continued decommissioning of the San Onofre Nuclear Generating Station.
With 25 years of executive and managerial nuclear experience, Bailly comes to SCE from Westinghouse Electric Company, where he served as vice president, Decommissioning Services. At Westinghouse, he was responsible for its worldwide commercial deactivation and decommissioning business.
Before Westinghouse, Bailly served as vice president, Reactor Decommissioning, for Orano USA and later as president, Orano Decommissioning Services, LLC.
Bailly began his nuclear career at AREVA La Hague in France as an officer in charge of investments and modifications for several facilities and services.
Bailly received his master’s degree in engineering from Arts et Métiers ParisTech in France
